Bio:  Turan Odabasi is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in technology, intellectual property, privacy, and data security. Currently serving as the Director and Assistant General Counsel at Ameritas since August 2018, Turan leads the technology contracting team, overseeing software licenses, SAAS agreements, and related transactions while managing the company's intellectual property portfolio and providing guidance on privacy and data security issues. Previously held positions include Senior Attorney at Nebraska Book Company, Inc., Corporate Attorney and Secretary at HomeServices of America, and Associate General Counsel at the University of Nebraska, where his responsibilities encompassed intellectual property, technology transfer, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. Turan holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
