Charity of the year

Each year, the Nebraska chapter of ARMA chooses a local charity to support through donations and the December auction. The 2008-09 charity selected is the Omaha Hearing School (Omaha, NE). View their Brochure.

The chapter will hold the annual charity auction immediately following the December program. Each board member will provide a wrapped gift (perhaps something valuable, perhaps not) for the attendees to bid on. All proceeds are matched up to $500 by the chapter and donated to the charity.

Here is a list of school supplies they provided and can always use. A collection box will be available at the October, November, and December meetings. Everyone is encouraged to support the school by donating any items from the list.

• Washable Crayola Markers (they've found that other brands just dry up too quickly)
• Crayons
• Elmer's Washable School Glue Bottles
• Elmer's Washable School Glue Sticks (They go through a TON of these every year, so many would be greatly appreciated! Again, Elmer's seems to last the longest without drying up.)
• Colored Pencils
• Construction Paper
• Manila Drawing Paper
• Sentence Strips
• Poster Board
• Washable Tempera Paint
• Masking Tape - Fat & Skinny
• School Supply Boxes
• Frisker Blunt Tip Children's Scissors
• Index Cards (3x5, 4x6, 5x7 unruled)
• Avery Labels (all sizes are welcome, but especially mailing, return address, and name tags)
• Three Ring Binders
• Art Foam (sheets and also assorted shapes)
• Assorted stickers
• Boxes of Kleenex
• Clorox Wipes
• AA Batteries
